Abstract
A method and a clamping device for clamping a weft thread in a jet weaving machine are proposed. The weft thread strand runs through the beginning section () and the end section () of a mixing tube. The two sections between themselves form an engagement opening () and are connected with a first holding magnet () by a counter support (). An actuator () in the form of an elastomeric bellows, which comprises a chamber (), is located on the beginning section () of the mixing tube. The chamber () is connected to a valve () via a supply line () and is acted on variably with compressed air. By deformation of the actuator (), a clamping element () connected thereto carries out a tilting movement between the counter support () and a contact stop part (), which contains a second holding magnet (). The holding magnets () lead to an exact and reliable clamping of the weft thread ().
