Abstract
A white-emitting electroluminescent lamp is provided that uses a phosphor blend comprising a mixture of particles of an electroluminescent phosphor and particles of an europium-activated alkaline earth phosphor having the general formula SrCaS:Eu where 0≦x≦1, wherein the electroluminescent phosphor is selected from a blue-emitting electroluminescent phosphor, a blue-green-emitting electroluminescent phosphor, or a combination thereof. A preferred blend contains from about 5% to about 20% by weight of the europium-activated alkaline earth phosphor.
