Abstract
A folding portable terminal which can be changed into a desired shape depending on applications of functions such as a telephone, a digital camera, and the like. A folding portable terminal () comprises a case () with a display section () and a case () with an operating section (), and the cases are foldably linked through a hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism comprises a first hinge section () formed by providing a first rotation axis at substantially the center of the case () that can be rotated about the first rotation axis in the folding or opening direction relative to the case (); a second hinge section () formed by providing a second rotation axis at substantially the upper end part of the case () so as to be parallel to the first rotation axis, the case () being rotated in the folding or opening direction relative to the case (); and means () for linking both ends of the first rotation axis and both ends of the second rotation axis. The hinge mechanism enables the display section () and the operating section () to be folded without being faced each other, and a user can operate the operating section () or view the display section () in the folded state.
