Abstract
Liquid crystal display panelis provided with TFT and pixel electrode, between which interlayer insulatoris interposed, and with reflective section, in each of a matrix of pixels; having first substrate whereon the pixel electrodeand the TFT's electrode D electrically connect via contact holeformed in the reflective section; second substrate whereon at least one protrusionstoare formed on common electrode in positions corresponding to the each pixel; perpendicular alignment layers deposited on each substrate; and liquid crystalwith negative dielectric anisotropy disposed between substrates. In position corresponding to base of protrusionprovided opposite the second substrate's contact hole, light-blocking filmis formed so as to cover the base viewed from above. Thus, liquid crystal display panel is provided wherein light leakage from reflective section's contact hole and from protrusions is curbed, with high contrast and display quality.
