Abstract
An overhead storage compartment () is disclosed in which the storage compartment () is moveable into a collapsed state so as to lie substantially adjacent to a roof panel () of a motor vehicle () and not intrude significantly into an interior space of the motor vehicle () and is further deployable from the collapsed state into an in-use or deployed state in which it defines a cavity that can be used to transport articles in the vehicle ().
