Abstract
Spirotetrathiocarbamates (STOCs) or oxa substituted compounds (SOTOCs) of Formula I: Formula (I) or bisSTOC or bisSOTOC compounds of Formula II: Formula (II) wherein X, X, X, X, X, X, X, and X, are independently O or S; and preferably at least two and up to all four of X, X, Xand X, and at least two and up to all four of X, X, X, and Xare sulfur; Z is —CRwherein m=1 to 4; —C(R)SC(R)—, C(R)SSC(R)—, or —C(R)OC(R); n is from 0 to 4; M is selected from CHCl, CHSC(O)R, CHSC(S)R, CHS(CHCHS)qH wherein q is 0, 1 or 2; —CR═CH, —CHOC(O)CR═CH, CHN═C═S, CHN═C═O, CHNRH, CHOH, CHSCHCHCR═CH, phenyl, C(R)phenyl, furan, thiophene, halogen, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Cheretocyclics, thiol, H, (III) or (IV) wherein A is S, O or phenyl; x is 0 or 1; Ris C-Calkyl; and Ris H or C-Calkyl have excellent optical properties.
