Abstract

A method for producing ethers comprises the following steps: initiating telomerization process of a conjugated diene compound with an hydroxyl compound represented by the following formula (I):ROH  (I)in the presence of a palladium compound, a tertiary isocyanide represented by the following formula (II):RNC  (II),and a base; and adding halfway through the telomerization process a tertiary phosphine represented by the following formula (III):PRRR  (III)(the respective symbols are defined in the description).
