Abstract
A signal switching device including an interface having a video signal communicating unit, a DDC and an HPD, controlling connected device, or being controlled by connected device. A switcher () includes a switch () selecting video signal input, a DDC () reading information from output destination device, a microcomputer () reading information indicating a physical address of switcher () and a status of the output destination device through DDC (), and a DDC () and a DDC () outputting information to a plurality of input source devices. The microcomputer () stores the physical address of the switcher () and above-mentioned information into an EDID memory () and reads the above-mentioned information out of the EDID memory () and outputs through the DDC () and the DDC ().
