Abstract
A communication monitoring apparatus () monitors a network () to which a plurality of devices are connected with an IEEE1394 serial bus. An obtaining unit () obtains information that concerns a communication control parameter that is determined or managed by another device on the network. A determining unit () determines whether the information that concerns a communication control parameter is compatible with the network () based on the information that concerns a communication control parameter that is obtained by the obtaining unit ().
