Abstract
An engine ECU executes a program including the step of controlling a driver motor which operates a TCV (tumble control valve) such that the TCV in the full-open state closes to a predetermined opening position (S), the step of detecting the electric current value of the driver motor (S), and the step of determining that the TCV is abnormal (S) in a case where the electric current value of the driver motor is smaller than a determination value S (I) (YES in S).
