Abstract

A transvascular embolic protection system for safely capturing and retaining embolic material released during an interventional procedure comprises an embolic protection device () and a delivery catheter () for delivery of the embolic protection device () to a desired location in the vascular system. A pack () is provided to safely store and prepare the embolic protection system for use. The pack () comprises a tray () with a channel () extending in a looped configuration around the tray () for receiving the delivery catheter (). A loading device () is mounted in the tray () adjacent to the delivery catheter (). The embolic protection device () is mounted in an expanded configuration in a well () in the tray (). A pushing device () for loading the collapsible embolic protection device () into the delivery catheter () is mounted in the tray () adjacent to the embolic protection device ().
