Abstract
There is provided a contents distribution method in which burdens imposed on a distribution service provider and a contents user are lightened so that the contents user can use contents as many as possible at low cost. A system comprises terminal apparatuses, a portal server, a contents DB, a contents distribution server, a cabinet management server, and an accounting server. The cabinet management servermanages the contents usable limit and contents storage status of each of the terminal apparatuses. The portal serverand the cabinet management servercooperate with each other to generate the contents usable limit for each terminal apparatusand instruct the contents distribution serverto distribute contents in accordance with a contents distribution request given from the terminal apparatus. To distribute the contents, the remaining capacity of the contents usable limit in the terminal apparatusis obtained based on information concerned with available contents and deleted contents in the terminal apparatusso that an instruction is given to distribute the contents within the remaining capacity.
