A card edge connector () includes an elongate insulative housing (), a plurality of signal contacts () and a pair of power contacts () retained in the insulative housing (). The insulative housing () defines a pair of opposed side walls () and a central slot () between the side walls (). Each side wall () defines a plurality of passageways () communicating with the central slot (). Each signal contact () has an engaging portion () exposed to the central slot (.)
