Abstract
Turbocompressorscomprise a turbine, a compressor, a rotatable shaftconnecting the turbineand compressorat opposite ends of the shaft, and an electric motorcoupled to the compressor. The turbinecomprises an inlet portconfigured to receive an air feed, and a turbine wheelconnected to the shaftand configured to rotate in response to a torque (τ) provided by the air feed. The rotation of the turbine wheelis rotates the rotatable shaftand a compressor wheelof the compressorconnected thereto. The compressorcomprises an inlet port configured to receive and compress an air feed. The electric motormay deliver a torque (τ) to the compressor wheelin a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the rotatable shaftin order to shut down the turbocompressor
