Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel anthrapyridone compound represented by the following formula (1) or a salt thereof, and can provide a magenta coloring matter having a highly vivid hue suitable for inkjet recording, a high fastness to recorded matters, and an excellent storage stability; wherein Rrepresents a benzyl group wherein the phenyl group of the benzyl group may be further substituted by a methyl group, a chlorine atom or a nitro group, 1-naphthylmethyl group or the like, and Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like, respectively.
