Abstract

A receiver modulecomprises a loop antennafor receiving signals from a digital broadcast network. The receiver modulemay be an integral component of, or attached to, a mobile terminalthat comprises a cellular transceiver. For example, the receiver modulemay be incorporated in a battery pack and inserted into a battery compartment of the mobile terminal, so that the receiver moduleand mobile terminalare powered by battery. The loop antennais substantially resistant to electric fields produced by the transceiverand other sources, and may be arranged within the receiver module. Where an external loop antennais provided instead of, or in addition to, loop antenna, the receiver modulemay be arranged to monitor the quality of signals received from the digital broadcast networkand alert a user to deploy the external antennaif the signal quality is low or decreasing.
