Abstract
The image pickup device of the present invention is capable of photographing still images during photography of a moving image, and is provided with a notifying means for visually notifying a subject that a photographic operation of a still image is to be performed when a release buttonis pressed half-way down during photography of the moving image, and then performs the photographic operation when the release buttonis fully pressed. The first notifying means may be a light emitting meanswhich lights up or flashes when the release buttonis pressed half-way down, or maybe a flash lamp device in which a light sourcepops up when the release buttonis pressed half-way down.
