A decanter type centrifugal separator includes a torque transmission mechanism with enhanced effect of absorbing a torsional vibration. The decanter type centrifugal separator () includes a bowl (); a screw conveyor () disposed in the bowl (); a processed liquid feed portion (); a separated liquid discharge port (); a solid discharge port (); a drive portion (); and a differential gear unit () for generating a difference in speeds between the bowl () and the screw conveyor ().
