Abstract

A method and system for operating an electronic device () that is operably coupled to an audio output device () is provided. The method includes receiving an encoded audio file at the electronic device. Further, the method includes selectively decoding () the encoded audio file, in correspondence with a spectral response of the audio output device, to provide decoded audio data. Furthermore, the method includes playing () the decoded audio data over the audio output device.
