Abstract
An absorbent article has an elastic waist portion, an absorbent element (), and a liquid-impermeable outer layer () which is intended to enclose the absorbent element on at least that side thereof which faces away from the wearer during use of the article. The absorbent element () is in its entirety arranged on the second piece (). The liquid-impermeable outer layer () is breathable, at least over a portion of this which covers the absorbent element ().
