Abstract
A rear-view mirror () for a motor vehicle is provided with a reflector layer () which is used to reflect light which impinges on the rear-view mirror () from a first viewing direction, a display layer () which is arranged behind the reflector layer () in relation to the viewing direction () and which is used to emit light, a quarter wave plate () which is arranged between the display layer () and the reflector layer () and a reflecting linear-polarisation layer () which is arranged between the display layer and the quarter wave plate ().
