Abstract

A duplex detection imaging system comprises a scanning device having a photosensitive element disposed therein for receiving light reflected from a front surface of a document. The photosensitive element is also adapted to receive light reflected from a back surface of the document while the front surface of the document is oriented toward the photosensitive element for determining whether an image resides on the back surface of the document.
