Abstract
The present invention relates to biuret compounds of the general formula in which Ris C-Calkylene, cycloalkylene, arylene or aralkylene, Y is —O— and/or —NH—, Ris C-Calkyl, C-Calkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, CH(O—CH)—(O—CH(CH)—CH), CH(OOC—CH), X—CH—(O—CH)—(O—CH(CH)—CH), where m=1-22, n=2-4, x=0-15, u=0-15, v=4-5, X is C-Calkyl, —(CH)and R, Rand Rare C-Calkylene, cycloalkylene, arylene or aralkylene, it being possible for R, Rand Rto be identical or different, Z is —COO—, NHCO—, NHCOO—, NHCONH— and/or mixtures thereof and a is 1-20. The invention also relates to a process for preparing biuret compounds and to their use as rheology control agents. The invention further relates to urethane- and/or urea-containing uretdiones which are useful intermediates for preparing the biuret compounds.
