Abstract
The invention relates to a hollow piston () for a piston engine, said hollow piston comprising a peripheral wall (), a central rod (), a front wall () on the front end thereof, and an articulated part) on the rear end thereof. The inventive hollow piston () has an annular cavity () formed against the rod (), between the peripheral wall () and the articulated part (). A rear section of the cavity () forms a front section of the articulated part (). The aim of the invention is to stabilize the hollow piston while ensuring an efficient guidance of the piston. To this end, the rod () ends the region of the cavity (), the articulated part () is a cap-shaped articulation recess (), and the rear section of the cavity () forms at least part of the articulated surface () of the articulation recess ().
