Abstract

A disc cartridge includes a cartridge main body, a rotation wheelrotatably accommodated in the cartridge main body, a pair of shutter platesinterposed between a lower shelland the rotation wheelfor releasing a first openingof a lower shelland a second openingof the rotation wheelin association with the rotation of the rotation wheelwhen the first openingcoincides with the second opening, and a locking memberfor prohibiting the rotation of the rotation wheel. The locking memberincludes a locking portionengaged with an engaging recessed portionof the rotation wheelfor locking the rotation wheelat a position where the shutter platesclose the first openingand a first and second unlocking piecesfor releasing the state that the locking portionis engaged with the engaging recessed portion. The first unlocking pieceis faced to an insertion guide grooveon the front surface of the cartridge main body, and the second unlocking pieceis faced to a guide grooveformed to a side surface of the cartridge main bodyin the inserting direction thereof. The rotation wheelunlocked by depressing any of the first and second unlocking pieces. With this arrangement, an unlocking mechanism of a rerecording and/or replaying device can be simplified.
