Abstract

The desired finish of a user can be easily and securely reflected in the finish of printed matter at the time of placing an order via a network. A CD-R recorded with viewer software capable of setting image processing conditions is provided to the user from a DPE store. When the user places an order by using the viewer software, processed images having been subjected to image processing regarding density, white balance, tones, and sharpness at different levels are displayed for image data to be printed. The user selects one of the processed images having the desired finish for each of the types of image processing, and the image processing conditions therefor are recorded in a header of the image data. The DPE store carries out the image processing on the image data according to the image processing conditions that are sent thereto and prints processed image data.
