Abstract

The present invention provides an arrester in which energy during discharge is not concentrated in one point and which has good responsiveness to overvoltage. The arrester is provided with an energy absorberthat absorbs energy when a lightning strike occurs, and a pair of conductive electrodesand. Between the pair of conductive electrodesand, two air gapsare formed in series, between the conductive electrodeand the energy absorber, and between the conductive electrodeand the energy absorber. The two air gapsinclude planer gaps.
