Abstract
An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing (), a plurality of contacts () retained therein, and a metal shield () enclosing the insulative housing (). The contacts () comprise a group of first contacts () and a group of second contacts (). Each contact () has a body portion (), a contact portion () and a soldering portion (). The soldering portions () are adapted to be surface-mounted to a circuit board. The body portion () has a first bending portion () joined with the contact portion (), and a second bending portion () joined with the soldering portion (). The body portions () of the first contacts () and the second contacts () are arranged in two rows along a front to back direction. The body portion () of the first contact () comprises a third bending portion () between the first bending portion () and the second bending portion () for making the soldering portion in a common plane.
