Abstract
A power amplifier (PA) line-up () and a method () for more efficiently utilizing battery power are disclosed. PA line-up () includes a driver (), a matching circuit (), and a PA () coupled to a matching circuit (), wherein matching circuit () is configured to be coupled to a filter (). PA line-up () includes a transmission line () coupled to matching circuit () and a switch () configured to selectively couple driver () to either matching circuit () or matching circuit () such that signal () is capable of by-passing PA () when signal () does not need to be amplified by PA (). Furthermore, PA line-up () may include a second transmission line () so that signal () is capable of by-passing a driver () and a PA () when signal () does not need to be amplified by driver () and PA ().
