Abstract
A seal () which is produced from an elastomer and comprises a contact plate () which rests against the outside of the housing and forms a sealing surface () surrounding an outlet orifice () is inserted into an orifice () at the lower end of a housing () of an ink cartridge (). A ring () adjacent to the top of the contact plate () surrounds a passage connecting to the outlet orifice () and leading into the interior of the housing and carries an all-round collar () projecting over the edge of the orifice () on the inside of the housing, so that the seal () is snapped into the orifice (). Once the ink cartridge () has been inserted into a receptacle () of an adapter (), with which it forms an inkjet printing head, the sealing surface () presses against a frame which surrounds a receiving orifice () of the adapter (), which receiving orifice is connected to a nozzle plate, so that the ink path is reliably sealed. The ink cartridge () can be conveniently inserted by a linear movement.
