Abstract
Total supplied current (I) and high voltage (V) supplied to a rotary atomizer head () are detected by a total current sensor () and a high voltage sensor (). Total leak current (I) in paint paths, thinner paths and air paths inside an electrostatic atomizer () is detected via a metal back plate () of the electrostatic atomizer (). When the total leak current value (I) exceeds a threshold value (I), the level Vof the high voltage applied to the rotary atomizer head () is lowered stepwise.
