Abstract
A device for detecting the position of a seam on a welded pipe in a three-dimensional laser beam machine for processing pipes. The three-dimensional laser beam machine has a chuckfor holding, rotating and axially moving a cylindrical pipe. A weld seam detection deviceis equipped with a sensor headprovided on a laser processing main body. The sensor headhas a master leverthat moves along an inner wall surfaceof the cylindrical pipeand a sensor lever. When the cylindrical pipeis rotated and the sensor levercontacts the weld seam, the movement of the sensor leveris detected by a micro switch, which sends a signal to an NC deviceby which the weld seam position is recognized.
