A method and device for displacement of a first fluid by means of a second fluid in a borehole () in the ground, where, during displacement, the second fluid is kept separate from the first fluid, and where the volume of an expandable space () in which the second fluid is to be located following the displacement, increases during inflow of the second fluid.
