Abstract
A control devicefor an automatic transmission apparatushas an automatic gearshift mode in which the gear of the automatic transmissionis automatically controlled by setting the shift position of a shift devicein one of forward travel positions including a first and a second forward position. The control devicealso has a manual gearshift mode changing the gear one step by one step by an operating unitother than the shift devicewhile maintaining the shift position set in the forward position. The manual gearshift mode includes a first manual mode when the shift position of the shift deviceis set in a first forward position, and a second manual mode when the shift position is set in a second forward position. A control pattern of the first manual mode differs from that in the second manual mode.
