Abstract
The present invention relates to a smoothing press for a paper machine and a press for a paper machine with a smoothing press as well as a paper production method. At a final stage of a press section () of a paper machine, wet web () with one face thereof retained by elastic members () is pressed by the nip section of a pair of press rolls () having a surface formed from a rigid material.
