Abstract

The invention relates to a method for supporting group communication between group members served by two or more controlling network elements in a communication network. The first subscriber (MS) in the group requests a speech item in a group call from a first controlling network element (DXT_C) that (DXT_C) transmits the speech item request to all other controlling network elements (DXT_A, DXT_B) serving the members of the group. The other controlling network elements accept or reject the speech item request depending on their local speech item request situation in the group and notify the first controlling network element at least about the rejection. The first controlling network element grants the speech item only if both its own speech item request situation and the other controlling network elements allow the speech item.
