Abstract
A pneumatic tire whose rim slip resistance and durability are improved by optimizing the shape of the bead base is provided. A polygonal bead corehaving a bottomextending generally along the tire width direction is embedded in a bead portion. The bead portionhas a bead baseextending between a bead heeland a bead toe. A maximum displacement pointis within a range of 25% or less of the width w of the bottom of the bead core with the third base point. The interference tat the maximum displacement pointis 1.1 to 1.3 times as much as the interference tat the second base point. the bead baseextends at least between the bead heeland the first base pointand has a first tapered portionwith a taper angle θbeing identical with or greater by three degrees or less than a taper angle θof a bead seat of the standard rim R.
