Abstract

The present invention concerns a method of determining the living character of an element carrying a fingerprint, consisting of making impedance measurements at various points on the said element by means of electrodes. The method according to the invention is characterised in that it consists of determining whether the said impedance measurements satisfy a law of variation of the impedance measured by the said electrodes as a function of the surface area of the said electrodes covered by the said elements such that Z=ƒ(S).
