Abstract
Means for detecting scanning positions of first and second recording heads is provided for detecting that the first recording head is opposed to a recording inhibition area (in which an imaging material is not mounted) on a drum, based on an output from the detection means. While the recording head is in the recording inhibition area, correction data for the second recording head is read from a correction data memory and transferred to a submemory in an FPGA for image processing. The second recording head reads the correction data from the submemory. Correction data can be read in parallel.
