Abstract
Methods for dividing resources of base stations among multiple mobile stations are provided. According to one embodiment of the invention, an overlapping group having a plurality of mobile stations that are overlapped between at least two cellular areas are generated () to provide a plurality of overlapping mobile stations, which are ranked () based, at least in part, on at least one threshold. A maximum number of the plurality of overlapping mobile stations having a highest ranking that can be assigned with reserved frequency and timing assignments are selected () to provide a plurality of selected overlapping mobile stations. These selected overlapping mobile stations are assigned () using the reserved frequency and timing assignments.
