Abstract

The invention relates to a protective cover which is intended to be mounted on the rear bearing () of a polyphased rotating electrical machine, such as an alternator or an alternator-starter for a motor vehicle. The inventive cover is of the type that consists of: an outer frame comprising a rear bearing and supporting a polyphased wound stator, the phase outputs thereof being connected to a phase connector (); and a support which is made from an electrically-insulating material, which is mounted in a fixed manner to the rear bearing and which supports the phase connector (). The cover is designed both to support the phase connector and to cover the rear bearing. The invention also relates to an alternator and an alternator-starter comprising one such cover. The invention is suitable for alternators and alternator-starters for motor vehicles.
