HDD boxestoare each incorporated with a secondary battery box, a non-isolated DC/DC converter, and an HDD. Logical circuit boardstoare each incorporated with the secondary battery box, fast-transient-response-type non-isolated DC/DC convertersto, and a plurality of loadsto. Every secondary battery boxis provided with a charge/discharge circuit, and a plurality of in-line secondary batteries. In the HDD box, the output voltage from the secondary battery boxgoes to an HDDvia the DC/DC converter. In the logical circuit board, the output voltage from the secondary battery boxgoes to the corresponding loadstovia the DC/DC convertersto. With such a structure, in a disk array apparatus, realized are higher energy efficiency and less space occupation through reducing power loss and optimizing power capacity setting for a backup power.
