With a spindle motor, a stator corecomprises a plurality of salient pole componentsthat are formed in a radial shape, are wound with a stator coil, and are disposed at a uniform angle except for a non-equiangular pitch portion, an circular outer peripheral yokeformed so as to be continuous with the outer peripheral side of the salient pole components, a cut-outwhich is formed by cutting out part of the outer peripheral yokein an approximate sector-shape except in the non-equiangular pitch portion of the salient pole components, and a compensating pole platewhich is provided in the cut-outalong the ends on the inner peripheral side of the non-equiangular pitch portion where the salient pole componentsare formed.
