Abstract
This invention includes a composition ofand tilianin obtained by separation-purification for anti-inflammation and anti-atherosclerosis, and more particularly, an extract ofand tilianin obtained therefrom by separation-purification which are effective in preventing and treating not only inflammatory diseases but also atherosclerosis related to inflammatory responses and disease in the circulatory system caused by atherosclerosis because they are excellent in inhibiting the activity of complement systems as a factor of inflammatory responses, the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecular-1 (VCAM-1), and the production of nitric oxide (NO). They can also significantly reduce the development of atherosclerosis due to the inflammatory response.
