Abstract
A method and a device for separating a small defined volume of a liquid sample from a relatively large undefined volume of the sample. In a surface of a first body () at least one cavity () having said small defined volume is provided. The relatively large volume of sample is applied onto the surface and into the cavity. A scraping edge () is moved relative to the surface and the cavity, thereby scraping a volume of the relatively large volume from the surface and leaving said small defined volume in the cavity.
