Abstract
A control unitcontrols a position of a pointer to be displayed on a displayA in response to an operation of a pointing device (PD)by the user. In this case, the control unitdetects actual operation directionsandof the PDby means of a sensing module. Next, the control unitdetermines whether or not the actual operation directionsandare included in an adjustment region, which is preset with a movable range of the PDas an object to be adjusted. Then, when it is determined that the actual operation directions are included in the adjustment region, the control unitadjusts information indicating the actual operation directions to information indicating a directionso predetermined as to correspond to the adjustment region in such a way that a moving direction of the pointer displayed on the displayA in response to the actual operation directions is changed to the predetermined direction.
