Abstract
An alkaline storage battery including a positive electrode (), a negative electrode () using a hydrogen-absorbing alloy, and an alkaline electrolyte solution employs, as the hydrogen-absorbing alloy in the negative electrode, a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for alkaline storage batteries including at least a rare-earth element, magnesium, nickel, and aluminum, and having an intensity ratio I/Iof 1.00 or greater, wherein Iis the strongest peak intensity appearing in the range 2θ=32°-33° and Iis the strongest peak intensity appearing in the range 2θ=35°-36° in an X-ray diffraction analysis using Cu- Kα radiation as the X-ray source.
