Abstract
An electrolytic cellcomprises electrolysis chambersandarranged opposite to each other through a diaphragm, raw water feed meansand, electrodesandarranged in the electrolysis chambersandin a manner sandwiching the diaphragm, and electrolyzed water take-out meansandfor taking out electrolyzed water obtained by electrolyzing raw water. The electrolytic cellcomprises a membrane-electrode assemblyformed so as to cause the electrodesandto respectively adhere to both surfaces of the diaphragm, mesh current collectorsandrespectively arranged opposite to the electrodesand, and a plurality of protrusionsand. The electrolytic cellcomprises connecting membersandconnecting the mesh current collectorsandto an external electric power supply in a manner penetrating the outer walls of the electrolysis chambersand, and resilient membersfor energetically pressing the connecting membersandtoward the mesh current collectorsand. The electrolytic cellcomprises a plurality of the protrusionsand, and the connecting membersand, respectively at positions opposite to each other on both sides of the membrane-electrode assembly. The current collectorsandare formed of a corrosion resistant conductive material. The electrodesandare formed of a porous material containing a conductive powder.
