Abstract
A process for stabilizing cyclobutanone derivatives, comprising adding at least one of an alkali metal carbonate, alkali metal oxide, alkaline earth metal carbonate, and alkaline earth metal oxide as a stabilizer to at least one cyclobutanone derivative of the structure where R, R, R, R, Rand Rare each independently hydrogen or an alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, hydroxyl, alkoxy, halogen, cyano or carboxyl group; and the correspondingly stabilized cyclobutanone derivatives.
