Abstract

A light-emitting device () including a light-emitting element (), a first phosphor (), and a second phosphor (). The light-emitting element () emits light Lhaving a wavelength range within the visible region. Upon receipt of the light L, or light Loriginating from the second phosphor (), the first phosphor () emits light Lhaving a wavelength range, which differs from that of the first light Land the third light L, but falls within the visible region. Upon receipt of a specific wavelength component (ultraviolet light, or the like) included in external light, the second phosphor () generates the light Lwhose wavelength range is substantially the same as that of the light L, thereby radiating the first phosphor () with the light L
